Walt Whitman and The Soul Children Of Chicago in concert
Provided By: Wanda EwingChicagogospel.comwanda@chicagogospel.comChicago’s own Minister Walt Whitman and The Soul Children of Chicago were in concert in Chicago on October . The concert was entitled, “The Refreshing Favor” and was held at The Harris Theatre in Millennium Park.
The event was facilitated by Inspiration 1390AM’s Angela Martin. The first half of the concert featured Soul Children of Chicago alumni: Julia Huff, Kevin Gray, Markeyta Sconiers, Russoul, Rick Robinson, Sherree Ford-Brown, and Nate Pointer.
After a short intermission, The Soul Children came back and gave a phenomenal performance. The entire night was a direct reflection of Minister Walt Whitman’s “no nonsense” way of doing everything in excellence.
Some of Chicago’s greatest artists and industry representatives were present to show their love and support to Minister Walt Whitman and The Soul Children of Chicago.
The Soul Children of Chicago was organized in October of 1981 under Minister Whitman’s leadership. He developed this a class performance group with a single-minded purpose: to utilize music as the motivator and catalyst to inspire young people throughout the world to have faith in themselves, each other, and God. To this day, The Soul Children of Chicago continue to serve the community as a non-denominational, non-profit educational organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of our youth.
Be on the lookout for their new project coming soon to a store near you. Also, The Soul Children of Chicago will be featured in two upcoming events, “Christmas in Chicago with Jennifer Hudson 2009” and “The Lighting of The Magnificent Mile” also in December of 2009. Both events will be televised.
